The FGOTM Title

I belong to an elite group of gals that gather together on Mary Jane's Farm.  Mary Jane's description of a farmgirl is simply put; "A farmgirl believes in the strong arms of friendship, community and the just plain fun of being together. A farmgirl takes joy in the quiet satisfaction of making things with her own hands. She exudes kindness, grace, humility, gentleness, patience and generosity, and loves the simple pleasures in life. A farmgirl is loyal and caring, especially when it comes to her family, friends and community. She gives generously of her time and talents. Farmgirls love to get together to share their ideas. She can be with or without fields and stock. Farmgirl is a condition of the heart."
I have met many wonderful women that gather at Mary Jane's Farm. Each month a  farmgirl is chosen to represent farmgirls as Farmgirl of the month (FGOTM). The farmgirl is chosen by the previous FGOTM. This month the April FGOTM, Holly has chosen me. I received an email with Holly's thread posting and all the wonderful things she said about me. What an honor to have the apron passed on to me! The words she said to describe me, brought tears to my eyes. Holly is a wonderful person. Her predecessor describe her as "an amazing, strong woman who stands out among many incredible and worthy women. She, along with her partner, has a large family of adopted children who are lucky to have this generous and spirited angel for their very own mom. She is also a caregiver, in her home, to 2 women with special needs. She farms, has some livestock, can handle a chainsaw, and we've heard stories about her "adventures" with her tractor. She is a handy-woman indoors and out, with carpentry skills to envy. Her abilities are the stuff of legends! She is also an artist creating, among other things, delightful painted miniature dolls of clay." . I wonder how can I fell her shoes? I can only hope to represent the Farmgirl community as well as she does and all of those that preceded her.
If you have never picked up a copy of the Mary Jane's Farm Magazine , you should rush right out and get one! The magazine is a wonderful woman's magazine full of information concerning a simpler, sustainable way of life.  It covers topics concerning women, home, cooking, sewing, gardening, raising livestock, organic and natural living. It is an all- in-one magazine. Mary Jane is to the farm girl, what Martha Stewart is for the city girl.
If after reading the magazine you hunger for this lifestyle, than hurry over to Mary Jane's Farm. and feast some more. Mary Jane's Farm. is a place where like women gather and chat. You can join the Farmgirl Sisterhood decribed as " We’re country, we’re city, and every texture and stripe in between. It’s not at all about where we live, but how we live. " You can chose to form a local sisterhood. (Similar to a 4-H for big girls). You can earn badges for going green, community service, gardening, preserving, wood working, mechanics and many more projects.
You can read threads on the Farmgirl Chat, and join in if you like. These gals chat about all areas of a simpler life. They will chat about recipes, raising kids, chickens and goats. They compare natural cleaners, steam cleaners. They discuss techniques and trends. They barter and swap. Farmgirls tell funny stories. The ask for help, and help others. They ask for prayers and pray for others. If you are following this blog, I am sure you will find a place that you feel at home on Mary Jane's Farm.
